Your MyWirelessTV adheres to a technology standard known as High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection or HDCP. The HDCP standard is a form of digital copy protection developed by Intel Corporation to prevent the copying of digital audio and video content as it travels across connections. The system is meant to stop HDCPencrypted content from being played on devices that do not support HDCP or which have been modified to copy HDCP content. Before sending data, a transmitting device checks that the receiver is authorized to receive it. If so, the transmitter encrypts the data to prevent eavesdropping as it flows to the receiver.
In order for your MyWirelessTV to function properly, your source device (Cable/Satellite receiver box (STB), DVD player, etc.) must adhere to the HDCP 2.0 standard.
Your current source device will need to be updated so that it adheres to the HDCP 2.0 standard. Contact your cable/satellite provider with the following information at [EU's Service Provider's Support Phone number]
- Set-top Box (STB) Brand Name
- STB Model Number
- Error Code displayed on the screen (if any)
If your cable/satellite provider informs you that there is no update available for your STB, you will need to request that they issue you equipment that adheres to the HDCP 2.0 standard.
